ENGINEERING-LED PORTFOLIO

I build the parts of a product that have to keep working.

I'm Faizan Saiyed — a full-stack engineer focused on backend APIs, realtime systems, asynchronous workflows, data, and the interfaces that make those systems useful.

01

FrameFlux

Keep heavy media work out of the request path.

Uploads and media transformations become explicit job lifecycles with durable state, validation, progress, retries, and cancellation.

THE INTERESTING PART

A resumable upload is a state machine. A media transform is a job lifecycle. The architecture makes both visible.

Telemetry

Give live system state a model the interface can trust.

Synthetic telemetry flows through one backend-owned model for anomaly detection, persistence, alert lifecycle, authenticated streaming, and a live dashboard.

THE INTERESTING PART

The frontend is not the authority. The backend owns alert lifecycle, roles, persistence, simulation state, and the live stream.

MERGED CONTRIBUTIONS

Small changes, merged into software beyond my own repos.

A record of merged pull requests across developer tools, SDKs, and user-facing software. Each card opens the original contribution.

My Contributions, Shipped in Real Software

Code I've contributed to established open-source projects, now included in official releases. Each achievement links to the published release.

SENTRY JAVASCRIPT SDK SHIPPED

v11.10.0 · Workers KV instrumentation

Workers KV tracing instrumentation, with @faizansaiyed123 included in the release contributor credits.

SENTRY JAVASCRIPT SDK SHIPPED

v11.9.0 · LoaderSentry type

TypeScript type export for the CDN loader, included in the release changelog and contributor credits.

SENTRY PYTHON SDK SHIPPED

v2.72.0 · Starlette thread tracking

Moved FastAPI active-thread tracking into Starlette; the release notes credit the PR author.

HOME ASSISTANT FRONTEND SHIPPED

20260930.0 · RTL light color gradient

Fixed the light color-temperature gradient for right-to-left layouts; the release identifies this as a first contribution.

FULL-STACK PROJECT INDEX

Product interfaces, connected to real systems.

Explore the full-stack work below. Available live previews link to deployed frontends; source links lead to the repositories. FrameFlux uses an architecture diagram, Product Analytics uses a genuine database-backed walkthrough screen because its current deployment cannot reach the API, and LedgerPulse uses a repository screenshot because no live deployment URL was verified.

THE REPEATED MOVES

The way I approach engineering is visible in the projects above.

01

Separate expensive work.

Long-running operations become explicit lifecycles with visible state, retries, cancellation, and failure boundaries.

02

Keep authority on the backend.

The interface can guide a user, but security, state transitions, and system rules belong where they can be enforced.

03

Validate before you spend.

Reject malformed or unsafe input at the edge before it reaches an expensive or sensitive execution path.

04

Verify from the outside in.

Unit tests prove isolated behavior; integration and browser tests ask whether the whole thing behaves as a user sees it.

/

I like systems that leave fewer surprises behind them.
